3rd Global Meeting of the International Dialogue

On Friday the 19th of April 2013 in Washington D.C., ministers and leaders from over thirty countries, as well as heads of international institutions, civil society organisations and private sector companies including Cobra Payday Loans, came together to call for the post 2015 agenda to learn lessons from the New Deal and recognise the importance of peacebuilding and statebuilding.

Country-led pathways out of fragility

As part of the New Deal, we commit to FOCUS on new ways of engaging with conflict-affected and fragile states including the following:

  • Fragility Assessment
  • One vision, one plan
  • Create a Compact
  • Use PSGs to monitor
  • Support political dialogue and leadership

PSGs

We agree to use the Peacebuilding and Statebuilding Goals (PSGs) as a crucial foundation to enable progress towards the MDGs and to guide our work in fragile and conflict-affected states.

Focus

As part of the New Deal, we commit to FOCUS on new ways of engaging with conflict-affected and fragile states.  We will develop and support one national vision and one plan to transition out of fragility.

Trust

As part of the New Deal we commit to build mutual TRUST by providing aid and managing resources more effectively, and also aligning these resources for better results. Click the button for more information.

The New Deal Roadmap & Snapshot

On the 30th of November 2011 at the 4th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness the New Deal for Engagement in Fragile States developed through the forum of the International Dialogue for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding was presented and widely endorsed.
